Module 1 - applique on net

I have started my samples with the applique on net section - to get me going. I will come back to the first part later. I have made little tags for each sample sprayed with walnut ink for the aging process.

1 bubblewrap net stitched and cut out - applique is black net in strips stitched down

2 silk filagree net with a hessian applique layer stitched on

3 hessian net with honesty plants appliqued onto it
4 Romeo net with embellisher applique on the net

5 water soluble paper ne with stitched flower shapes for the net then an organza applique on top

6 organza applique on black bridal tuile. Maybe could develop into a bridal tuile but with red organza?

7 the net is made from knitted paper yarn and then I have appliqued Japanese flower paper and stitched machine made cords around the edges for flower shapes
8 the net here is a flower paper napkin with cut out paper napkin flowers appliqued onto it. Again a machine made cord to surround

9 paper napkin net with paper flowers appliqued onto the surface.
This idea could develop into a fragile bodice - I would need to look at the joining of the pieces.

I hope this is a good start Janet! I shall be back with more soon

I have set up this blog to plot my journey through the Histoical Heirlooms course I am doing with Janet Crowther. It is to make me work and I hope to post at least once a week with my work and stuff.
